Sidenote

I think ten comics in one night is not too shabby. At that rate, it will only take about 159 nights. Har. Maybe this was a bad idea. ;)

#10 Coffeeshop Lust

#10 Coffeeshop Lust

OK, I guess I was thinking there would be some comic in which Faye gets the job at the coffee shop, but I guess not. Also, in the beginning, Penelope likes Marten. And, Marten thinks Penelope is cute.

#9 Two Ships Passing in Broad Daylight

#9 Two Ships Passing in Broad Daylight

Is that Penelope I spy? And what coffee shop is this? Cute comic!

#8 Sexy Ports

Faye goes home after a night of hanging out. She is the topic of discussion after she and Steve bid their farewells. Marten is a little disappointed that Faye wasn't interested romantically. Pintsize was wondering if had a shot with Faye.

#7 Indie Bonding

#7 Indie Bonding

Steve beats Pintsize at video games (robot has no thumbs!) while Marten and Faye talk about indie music. I don't know much about hardcore freakin' indie, so I have no idea if they are real bands. Come to think of it, I just substitute whatever new elitist thing is coming down the pike when I read it.

#6 The Hazards of Internal Monologue

#6 The Hazards of Internal Monologue

This one looks hand-lettered. Probably because it IS! Faye seems more of a seductress in this incarnation than in her present one. Marten is cute and non-verbal. Good times.

#5 Chicks Dig Disc Drives

#5 Chicks Dig Disc Drives

Is Faye serious about the squee? This strip is the first instance of Faye in Marten's apartment. Pintsize is relatively well-behaved.

#4 Faye Cuts to the Chase

#4 Faye Cuts to the Chase

The indie girl is Faye! I'd forgotten that. She's pretty funny in her first appearance, but then most jokes involving poop are funny.

#3 True Professionals

#3 True Professionals

Marten tells the reader his last name, "Reed". He discusses his job angst and his love for indie girls with a friend. I think the friend will turn out to be Steve, but he isn't labeled as such in this comic.

#2 While You Were Out...

#2 While You Were Out...

Marten is going out for the evening. He and Pintsize chat about drinking and exchange computer jokes. I like Pintsize because I wish I had a smarmy robot that was interested in porn and could make me laugh. The porn thing makes him personable.

#1 Employment Sucks

#1 Employment Sucks

Marten comes home from a terrible day of awful work and talks to Pintsize, his robot. Pintsize has a dirty mind. The difference between #1 and today's comic is amazing. Comparing the two makes Marten look like an embryo in #1. (But the comic was engaging and interesting and cute enough that I read the whole thing to the current strip in two or three days.) Also, it makes me wonder what the difference is in the technology that the artist is using for the two comics.

Introduction

I love Questionable Content. I love the art, the stories, the jokes. I love the characters and the robots. I was looking for a certain story arc tonight and decided to write about the strips because that's how much I love them. Also, I work nights and I need something exciting to keep me awake. Thus, my love for Sven Faye Dora comics will see me through. Let's begin, shall we?
